The Pediatric Trials Network (PTN) study team has a unique relationship with the International Children’s Advisory Network (iCAN), a worldwide consortium of children's advisory groups. Together, they work to provide a voice for children and families in health, medicine, research, and innovation through synergy, communication, and collaboration.

Since 2019, PTN and iCAN have partnered on multiple projects, engaging young people and families in clinical research. PTN representatives have attended several iCAN Summits to present collaborative lectures, participate in panel discussions, and engage in other activities. Youth representatives from iCAN have been actively involved in PTN studies, reviewing and providing input on study materials from start to finish for 19 clinical trials. They have also created videos for PTN’s website explaining study results in simple language and contributed to an anthology titled "Reflections on Pediatric Clinical Research," aimed at helping children understand what it means to participate in a clinical trial.

Additionally, PTN supports the iCAN Young Professionals network, aiding in internships, resume building, and interview preparation.
